On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, CPMBS presented a single Periwinkle Award for individual achievement to Coalition founder Barbara Sieg of Ellicott City.

Mrs. Sieg was honored for her outstanding — and long-standing — personal effort and significant accomplishments to save Maryland burial sites from neglect and desecration, and for increasing public awareness of the heritage and cultural traditions of Maryland cemeteries in general.

A relentless advocate for neglected and abandoned cemeteries, for decades Barbara has sparked interest and positive action in all corners of our state.

The award was presented on April 30, 2016, in Elkridge, Maryland.
