Friends of Moses Hall is thrilled to announce our upcoming benefit event featuring the premiere of the documentary short film, Help Us to Help Each Other, Lord: The Story of Morningstar Tabernacle No. 88 in Cabin John, Maryland.

This powerful film, written and directed by L. Paige Whitley, uncovers the rich history of Morningstar Tabernacle No. 88 and the vital role African American benevolent societies played during the era of racial segregation in Maryland. For the past two years, Paige has meticulously researched historical materials, unearthed rare images, and collected descendant narratives to share this little-known history.

The film will premiere on June 3 at Round House Theatre in Bethesda, MD.
