African American Heritage Preservation Program

Registration is now open for the FY 2025 African American Heritage Preservation Program (AAHPP) Webinars & In-Person Workshop

Administered as a partnership between MHT and the Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture (MCAAHC), AAHPP provides grants to assist in the preservation of buildings, sites, or communities of historical and cultural importance to the African American experience in Maryland.

This spring, MHT and MCAAHC will hold two webinars and one in-person workshop throughout April, May, and June for prospective AAHPP applicants. Attend a virtual session or in-person workshop to learn if your project is eligible, how to submit an application, selection criteria, and more. You can learn more about the grant program on the program website.

Attendance is free, but you must register to participate and for more information.


April 23, 2024: Webinar from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Virtual)

May 10, 2024: In-Person Workshop from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM | The C. Burr Artz Public Library (Frederick)

June 3, 2024: Webinar from 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM (Virtual)

Application materials are now available on the program website for the FY 2025 grant round. Applicants are strongly encouraged to read the grant guidelines, view a recorded webinar and to contact program staff with any questions, and to see if your project is eligible. All applications must be completed and submitted by 11:59 pm on July 1st, 2024.
